FAQ/FAQ · Non-Payment
What Happens If Rent Isn't Paid?
Ontario has a specific legal process when rent isn't paid — courtesy contact, then an N4 notice, then an LTB application if the arrears aren't cured.
The LTB backlog means non-payment situations resolve slowly. Fast action on the paperwork and strong initial screening are the best defences.
What's Included
- N4 Notice after 1 day late
- 14-day cure period
- L1 filing at LTB
- 4-8+ month total timeline
