Do I Need Landlord Insurance?
Yes. A standard homeowner policy doesn't cover a rental property. Ontario landlords need a landlord-specific (dwelling / rental property) policy.
We recommend making tenant insurance a lease requirement — it protects the tenant's belongings and reduces friction on damage claims.
